When DJ Khaled turned the question of "Are the Drake vocals in yet?" into a living meme, it was hard for people to not get excited. History has taught us that when DJ Khaled and Drake come together, the vast collective of white sorority asses will be bouncing to their anthems for the entire summer.
And I don't think they underdelivered either. I see some rumblings throughout the internet forums, calling the song underwhelming and not very fun. To the contrary, I am sure that this song will grow on it's listeners and become an infectious ear-worm.
The production is super unorthodox for a pop song with a cascading drum pattern that rolls through like very muted thunder. The vocal performance is sparse but I think it works. It allows for a lot of space in between the words so that the listener can just vibe along. This is going to be perfect party music. Everyone can just focus on the rhythm and not be confined only to very specific raps about who knows what. It's going to be everywhere and most importantly, girls will love it and that's all everyone really wants.
